I’m not going to lie, I have always wanted to do some guerrilla gardening. You know, plant some flowers in surprise spots around town, such as islands dividing streets, the side of the road, and tiny patches of land pleading to be flowered. Well, there is an elderly man that lives at my apartment building that gardens. Our front entryway is incredible because of his gardening work. He has now taken to guerrilla gardening across the street on the tiny strip of dirt lining the railing over the freeway. Sunflowers are a welcome surprise.
I say it’s still my apartment building because it is – even though I now officially have my house (!), it’s bittersweet to move on. So here I am, appreciating the little things that came with the apartment. Like guerrilla gardening. I am going to miss that, among many other things. Maybe it will give me an excuse to do some guerrilla gardening of my own.
